Who Am I ?

Virat was born in India, and raised with a consciousness to respect all. He showed a hightened sensitivity to emotions, and well being of others, including that of animals. As a devotee of Sri Ramana Maharshi, Virat grew through the articles his father would read and explain during his school days in late 1950s, from earlier publication and later from Mountain Path, a monthly publication published by Sri Ramanasramam. The vital experience of Sri Ramana's core message 'Who Am I', came into the his life by way of osmosis from his father.

Virat first landed in New York in 1974. He stayed for a few years and returned to India, but was transferred to the US by his company in 1984.

He started teaching guided meditation in 1999, after a series of crises in his life. At this point on his path, Virat, a natural sensitive, has chosen to offer guided meditations at the Sri Ramana Meditation Center in Lafayette, NJ. He is also available for group meditations at other locations.  Virat bases his interaction based on Upadesa Saram written by Sri Ramana Maharshi and on Advaita Vedanta understanding. He offers the opportunity to experience a state of meditation that many will find enlightening and healing.

In Search of 'I'

Not bound by boundaries
Nor by the abounding sundries
I tread, sans compass, with a sense of mystic direction
not in search of a destination but for the one within, alas, still in action !

Thy voice within spoke in a language I do not recall,
whence it was an age of fun, frolic, beyond the walls
The tread then, wasn't known -- nor still is, but wears high
known, unknowingly, less feeble, getting stronger in search of 'I'.
